Benefits and Drawbacks of an Open House

An open house is a tool for most agents, it helps get more eyes on a listing. Most open houses increase the visibility of potential buyers and could shorten it’s time on market. It will help you show off advantages of your home, like certain features that may look better in person than in a photo, also will show that the home has been maintained.

Although with an open house you may have some drawbacks, an open house does not guarantee a higher sales price. An open house can attract the people that are ‘just looking’ and are just curious about what the house looks like and not in possibly purchasing the property. This can also bring issues like theft and security problems, not very common but is a possibility.

When it comes to an Open House use your best judgement, it has its benefits and drawbacks but an Open House can be a very powerful tool when selling your home.
